Did Prof. MUGENDA, husband to former KU VC, commit suicide? Shocking details emerge over his DEATH
Shocking details have emerged over the death of Prof Abel Gitau Mugenda, the husband to former Kenyatta University vice Chancellor and Commissioner of Judicial service Commission, Prof Olive Mugenda.
Prof Mugenda, who was a lecturer of statistics and research at USIU and a renowned scholar, was said to have died of short illness.
However, it has emerged that the late academician may have committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of a popular hotel in Nyeri Town.
A source intimated to us that the professor had checked into the White Rhino hotel on January 2 and was staying alone.
And on January 5, the day he died, a man jumped from the sixth floor of the hotel and died on the spot but the incident was not reported.
Police suspect the Saturday 5am incident is a possible suicide because CCTV camera shows the deceased's movement before his death.
On the same day, a surveillance camera captured the professor leaving his room on the fourth floor and going up the stairs.
